Hi Notes. You sure spread the FREE message far and wide. Wishing you good luck. Thanks. It's a much better product now, and I want all the people who have the old version to be able to have the improvement. I have a database of customers, but I don't have the current e-mail addresses of all. I mailed a notice out, one at a time (so the spambots won't reject them) and I'm posting one time, in 3 threads here, and the listserv list, just to make sure everyone who cares, can enjoy the new version.

Yes good luck Notes with all your style Disks and your Expanded styles as well. However please correct the following on your website ( as you have coded your own site it should be a breeze for you to do that)<...snip...> Thanks. Oops! I missed that when BiaB changed. (blushing). And thanks all for the well wishes.

This is a nice piece! Since it's in development I'll assume that you want production commentary? I really like the groove of this mix and the sound of it, it it has a another distinctive 60s feel to it which holds together throughout most of the song, and the similarity or familiarity of that feel makes it cohesive. The solo guitar sounds like it comes from a completely different era and just to me doesn't really seem like it fits in with the other instruments in the mix or the feel. But it certainly is a high energy and snappy song and I really like it a lot.

Great song Bob! Another great use of storytelling! Hey I have a question about the epic life cycle story of Bob Dean. What was the inciting incident that happened in New York City when it occurred to you that you'd made a huge mistake leaving Woodstock and going to Chelsea that made you turn around and get in your Woody station wagon and leave all of the Andy Warhol and Nico wannabes behind and drive all the way back to Woodstock? Are you going to save that for your autobiography or is that going to be coming up soon in your song cycle? 🙂

I guess sometimes one needs to do the hard work themselves to find answers, and sometimes also to be prepared to make compromises. BIAB probably does not have a musical replication of every possible musical delivery. I agree with you.

Mario, DEFINITELY Sci Fi movie soundtrack material! Maybe not a traditional "song" per se, but absolutely a BLAST to listen to. You've definitely got an imagination from out of this world. My hats off to Mr Enbacker...

Having been born and raised by the sea this is a song that reminds me of the long summers of my youth. I really like the chorus, too. Chay, yes, I recall you sharing some of your seaside adventures in earlier comments. Glad you liked this! Ron...very very nostalgic...it was Lake Storey for me in my youth...where all the cool girls and cool cars showed up...great production...I get the feeling you like music that showcases this period in music history and it's not just nostalgia but the music was good...as they would say on American Bandstand it "has a good beat and you can dance to it"...you nailed the genre and captured a feeling that most of us from those periods enjoy feeling...well done boys! and the music was terrific!! Dan, thanks for the listen! You've nailed my predisposition for fun songs, 'cause...if it's not fun, why do it? Here's to "cool girls and cool cars". Ha! Hi Ron, I sure did enjoy the trip. Also loved the harmony. Thanks Cheers Mike B. Mike, glad you enjoyed the trip! Be sure to wipe the sand off your feet before getting back in the car... Sounds good Ron. Fun song and and excellent mix. Personally, being unaware of Crystal Lake, you captured and conveyed the nostalgia perfectly. Nice. Izzy, glad you liked it! "Crystal Lake" was a real place, but I think of it as a metaphor for those dreamy good times that we imagine will last forever, but somehow never do. The "good old days" indeed. THANKS for listening!

I like this. Those jangly guitars are perfect. Once you put the final polish on this it'll be a great listen. Currently kinda bright but not overly so and lacking a balanced bottom end.

It's all very beautiful. The question I ask myself is: what will be the 50 new releases this year ??? You have to imagine the brain factory that designs and realizes 50 new ideas per year, or 1 per week ! And every year I buy the same software ! Honestly updates should be free, or pay for 1 out of 2, but every year ??? And despite everything, we are still very far from the ease and user-friendliness of the EZ Toontrack or the famous simplicity of the BeatBuddy. I vote 2, like everyone else

Ray, this has a wonderful classic rock sound. The vocals, guitars and bass sound GREAT. I really like both the repetition and the changes you inserted. Creates a cool dynamic shift that's very fun to listen to. I would call this a nice pop song, but I get the feeling sometimes that the term isn't universally "pop"ular. Anyway, your song is very popular with me!

Hi Bud, Janice, Peter and Floyd, A lovely song, and how nice to hear Janice and Floyd both singing in it! Their voices sound very, very good together. And together with that lovely song, it's really swings. Peter and his guitar surely helps letting it does. Good work! But the lyrics... man, what a mean sister and lousy men you had to face, Janice! Story of your live (in songs). And now living in the outskirts of... fun? No, love it a lot! Hans Thanks for the kind words Hans. Well, Janice has four sisters but none would throw her out! 😀 And we appreciate you mentioning floyd and Peter. They nailed it. Glad you liked it! J&B

You guys are super superb, and I am ever grateful. I wasn't here then, and much enjoy this remake. Man, Janice is one of my favorite Blues singers. I don't care about acents; it's all about the feel and she puts that in every song she sings. You four inject an abundance of feel and professional talent. This song has it all. You are never on the outskirts; you're full on fun. Thank you Marty. I (Bud) have often thought that Janice sings like a method actor. She puts herself totally into the song while working on it and then walks away from it after recording. 😀 And you are so right - it’s all about feeling. Glad you liked it! J&B

Love this Elvis. You have beautifully set the mood with a great audio and video and of course the subject matter is close to my heart. The absence of drums is a masterstroke which adds to the melodramatic aural vista. Nice indeed. To tell ya the truth...I like simple songs without all the bells and whistles. James Taylor can still stand there with just a guitar and get it done. It's over whelming all the plug ins and toys . How about make sure my guitar is tuned and a pretty girl in Italy to play violin .lol thanks Izzy .

#2 for me. Also really looking forward to VST3. Actually I can add that I'd really like to see more MIDI styles and tracks/supertracks given that I have tons of excellent plugins and also often transfer what I do in BIAB to notation software at some point, which is greatly simplified by having good quality MIDI data as the starting point.

Hello Folks, It's been a couple of months since I posted Judith Said - the song with a SUPERB vocal by Janice Merritt. I've a few things I'm working on but only one that's in a state for any sort of listening. This is a song I wrote with my college writing partner Eric Drabwell, formerly of small town near Shreveport - but we did this about eight years ago rather than back in '76. It sat unfinished because it had potential but plodded along with insufficient variation for me to feel comfortable with it. I used BIAB to recreate the original song then added some chords changes to give some variation. Originally this was all G and C but I added a D/Dsus and an Am plus a C to give it some movement. I used the drums, organ & lead guitar from BIAB and recorded the rhythm guitars & bass myself. I copied the original vocal into the project and did some tuning to have the vocals agree with the news chords as well as a fair but of slicing & dicing to get the timing & phrasing right. Eric's not fussed on the changes and dislikes having his vocals tuned but I needed to do that nasty thing to make the changes work. His essential melody remains, pretty much, untrammeled though. I'll add the chords, BIAB components & lyrics presently, (I'm cooking dinner as I'm doing this). For the moment here's the unmastered current mix: APPARENTLY - The Newlings BIAB STUFF: Organ - 671 Solo - 1260 Drums - RockHardLA^7 LYRIC: (Eric added the NO and some variations to the You don't part) For those in the know this is based on the very famous lyric by a cloth capped English chap doing introspection amidst the glam world. I used to rewrite famous lyrics as an exercise and to absorb forms etc. This one seemed to work better than most. Not so very long from now A few minutes or maybe an hour I’ve arranged by stealth to help myself To take residence in the tower And once because I’m soft will send my tears aloft All that just to make it plain to you That what we had you’ve completely shattered Left standing in a daze you amaze As you were saying: "It’s all a lie I will not try" No point in you refraining From tearing down my life And landing me in strife You don't love me? Apparently, No. It could have been any day For you to chose to go away But it’s not for you that wouldn’t do Demise to be its own decay So to make it all come down You brought the world around Once with so much, Now it's cut by your touch Displayed me in little pieces Leaving them no doubt All about your lack of mercy You took your grand exit And took it without me No, there was no need But you knew I’d plead You've walked again? Apparently, No. It seems to be That there are more lives Wasted in the world That you have rended They can’t be mended Why do you do that which you do? If I consider the years The shouting and the tears I recall you cried when I said you’d lied Not knowing you hid your fears And of all the lies you told Not one was oh so bold As the things you said beside me in bed You don’t love me, apparently, no. You’ve found someone, apparently, oh. You’ve walked again, apparently, oh. You don't love me? Apparently no.

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
