I'd like to request that future versions of BiaB allow users to find and audition RealDrums based on specified rhythm patterns.
I understand that this has been requested in the past but I came to this subject quite independently and was actually hoping that an option/preferrence somewhere might already allow this. My original question is here.
https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=801236#Post801236Let's say I want the following pattern: kick-snare-kick-kick-snare-kick-snare-kick-kick-snare, etc.
It would be useful if we could somehow communicate this to the program and have it supply candidate RealDrums to audition that contain this pattern.
Of course, someone else may want kick-snare-kick-kick-kick-kick-snare-kick-kick-kick-kick-snare, etc
Or some other pattern.
Then there is the question of the hihat.
We would also be able to specify attributes such as
Present: yes/no
1/2 notes, 1/4 notes, 1/8 notes, etc
Open: yes/no
Ditto for toms and maybe bongos/congas, rider cymbal, crash . . .
Advanced rhythm criteria could include stutter-steps and randomization.
I'm not advocating that all this be implement "tomorrow" but if the kick-snare could be attacked first that would go along way in improving usability.
I'm also not all advocating the elimination of any current feature but rather to add functionality. Below is a screenshot showing over 3,000 RealDrums. Far to many to explore (at least for me). So there is well-stocked database of RealDrums already available, we just need better access to them.
To me, BiaB seems to be "style-centric" (a good thing). This request would add a "drum pattern-centric" capability to the program while still maintaining the linkages of a particular RealDrum back to the styles it supports.
I'm sure others can articulate this idea much better than I'm doing and hope they would add-to or sharpen this request.
Thanks for any consideration.
