FIND MY WAY BACK HOME This song was originally an instrumental that Ron Helm and I decided to put some lyrics to! It's probably the only track I've shared that all the guitars are acoustic. Hi Torrey,
Good song and good lyrics.
Not sure about the "doubled" vocals. You have a good singing voice so maybe the doubling could be a bit lower in volume or maybe just on the choruses.
Otherwise - excellent.
Best Regards Nigel

Fantastic song, Torrey. Love the way your layered harmony lines add a new dynamic. Those guitar fills sound like they could be an electric, so nice job coaxing the acoustic to do that. Excellent mix and production throughout. Just fabulous.

Torrey...this is another stellar song from you and Ron....your vocal and instrumental mastery are shining through....I love the arrangement and nuances you've incorporated...the BGV's are "the best"....I love songs with the prodigal theme and feel...they are so redemptive and encouraging...a light to the path we sometimes find ourselves on...this theme crosses over so well...but I think I know who you're writing about.
One nit: I think I agree with Nigel about the effect on the solo vocal...your vocals are always so clear and clean...that would be my preference here as well...IMHO.

Excellent song Torrey! Absolutely loved that intro., and that bass was strong throughout. Cool lead lines and chord progression too. As a great overall production as always. I do have one question, I hadn't expected that modulation at the end. It came as a surprise to me. It sounds good, I was just wondering if you threw it in for Dan's sake?

Best Regards Nigel Thanks for listening and commenting! I was on the fence about the vocal doubling! I have an updated version up now that only has the lead vocal doubled in the chorus and bridge sections. TB

This is a groovy laid-back song, Torrey. Great lyrics, instrumentation and mix. I particularly like that chorus. Really excellent all around

The lead in the intro creates high expectations - which you meet & exceed. The doubling accentuates some of the sibilant stuff - not bad, not crucial but it's something I'd address for my ears. The sudden quiet "break down" was a surprise and works a treat. Mate, the lead lines, licks et al are F.A.B.

Thanks Dan, almost without exception, the songs Ron and I write together are purposely written in a way that they can be interpreted as a crossover song in order to reach a wider audience. Ron is currently a hospice chaplain and therefore brings a lot to the table with his insight on the spiritual side of things. BTW there is no doubling of the vocals in the verses! Only in the chorus and bridge sections and I am satisfied with the way they sound! TB

Like we said over at SC this is a BIG acoustic production! Great arrangement and dynamics.
The synth interlude and the mod near the end are very effective.
The band is excellent and your work on the acoustic fills, etc. is stellar. Nice tone and chops.
Fine write and, of course, vocals also. We liked how the write leaves one to connect their own dots.
Well done and we enjoyed it!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
